Admont - Culture & Nature
The small town of Admont is a treasure at the entrance of the Gesäuse, the small canyon created by the forces of the river Enns over the passed millenia.

Admont is world-famous for its Benedictine Abbeye, the oldest abbeye in the province of Styria, with the fantastic library. This library ranks among Austria's most important cultural treasures and has often been called the eighth world wonder. Some may think that this is a little exaggerated but the library is definitely worth the journey to Admont.

Besides the famous abbeye, Admont also offers great outdoor activities throughout the year. During the cold season enjoy long winter hikes, skiing in the nearby skiing area Kaiserau, snowshoe hiking and much more. The landscape around Admont is unique and the view offered from the mountain tops is breathtaking.

A great value accomodation for your stay in Admont is the Youth & Family Guesthouse in the center of the town. The guesthouse offers several common rooms and is thus perfect for groups.
