Schladming will always be linked to professional ski racing. The Planai, a downhill slope, is a challenge even for pros. Since 1973 ski races have been organized in Schladming and the Planai has become a synonym for professional skiing and spectacular races.
Besides great downhill slopes for pros and beginners, Schladming offers a great variety of winter sport activities and a perfect infrastructure for tourists without having lost the charm of a small alpine town. The city center is great for shopping, dining and going out while the outskirts of Schladming provide the tranquillity and relaxation so important for many visitors.
