The famous pilgrimage site Mariazell with its Baroque-Gothic basilica has for centuries been the cultural and spiritual center of Upper Styria. Also Neuberg, a small town in the Mürz Valley, is interesting for its monastary and its cultural events. A special time to discover the region is before Christmas. The Mariazeller Advent with its traditions, the delicious gingerbread and the charming Christmas market should not be missed.
